Smallmart

I would love to say that Smallmart was born out of the goodness of my heart, but if I’m being 100% honest, it was sparked out of frustration. During all of these lockdowns and restrictions, NO ONE took the brunt of that abuse like small businesses. And to see everyone turn to the likes of Walmart and Amazon because there was literally no where else to shop, made me sick to my stomach.

I’ve seen small businesses do the impossible, and I’ve helped some of them do it. Anyone who’s started an online business can tell you, there is no question more irritating than, “Why don’t you just start an online business?” It’s hard! That’s why.

Smallmart was intended to be a duplicatable template for different towns to use to promote and sort their local businesses online in one, central listing. It didn’t quite take off since I didn’t have much time to market it. But it has led to some sales for the people who listed here – they’ve followed up to let me know.
